A joint resolution sponsored by Senator Anthony M. Bucco that would designate The Growing Stage Children’s Theatre as the New Jersey State children’s theatre cleared the State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee.
$5 Million Added to Morris County Small Business Grant Program
$10 Million in Grants Now Available for Pandemic Recovery – Launched on Valentine’s Day with a $5 million fund, the Morris County Small Business Grant Program was given an additional $5 million last night by the Morris County Board of County Commissioners, which voted unanimously to increase the program funding.
Give Input On Improving New Jersey’s Food Insecurity
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority is seeking input on strategies to address food insecurity in NJ’s food deserts and ideas for initiatives to increase access to affordable healthy food through a Request for Information (RFI). The Authority is seeking input from: food retailers, producers, processors, or suppliers, advocacy organizations or social services providers, supermarket developers or operators, technical assistance providers, agricultural organizations, and others. Responses to the Request for Information are due April 12th.
SBIR/Coaching and Proposal Preparation Assistance
NJ entrepreneurs and small businesses are eligible to receive guidance and assistance in pursuing the SBIR and STTR programs. These services include help in determining whether SBIR and STTR are worth pursuing given a company’s technology, core competencies, business goals, and team; and coaching throughout the proposal development process.
CSIT Announces Clean Tech Seed Grant Program Proposals due April 5, 2021
The New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation, and Technology (CSIT) Clean Tech Seed Grant Program will help accelerate development and innovation of clean technologies by furthering research and development (R&D) within the Garden State’s clean technology startup community. CSIT developed the program in coordination with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA).
State to Lift Requirement to End Bar and Restaurant Service at 10 p.m.
Starting Friday, February 5th, the State requirement to end service in bars and restaurants at 10 p.m. will be lifted. However, municipalities or counties may continue to regulate hours of operation after 8 p.m., giving local officials the ability to respond to unique situations where they notice non-compliance
Indoor Capacity To Increase from 25% to 35% for Select Businesses
Beginning Friday, February 5th at 8 a.m., indoor capacity limits will increase to 35% of stated capacity for food and beverage establishments, personal care businesses, and recreational and entertainment businesses, including gyms, fitness centers, and casinos. Certain indoor gatherings, including religious services and wedding ceremonies, will be limited to 35% of the room’s capacity up to 150 people.
Small Business Assistance Loan Program Deferred
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority has deferred pre-registration for Phase 2 of the Small Business Emergency Assistance Loan Program. The deferral accommodates the rollout of additional federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) financing for small businesses, which was not announced when the NJEDA was planning the Small Business Emergency Assistance Loan Program. Governor Murphy Announces Main Street Commercial Corridors Relief
LONG BRANCH – Governor Phil Murphy announced a new relief program for small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Small Business Lease – Emergency Assistance Grant Program (SBL-EAGP) will allow businesses in 64 eligible municipalities to apply for grants of up to $10,000 for lease costs.
