Netcong has an amazing young lady who started a project to help our Netcong Emergency Food Bank. She uses coupons clipped from Sunday newspapers and other periodicals to purchase personal hygiene products with the coupons and donates them to our food bank.
To date, our food bank has given many items out to our guests who simply cannot afford to buy a brand name shampoo and conditioner; tooth paste, deodorant and a wide range of other items.
Our food bank contributor, who I believe is about 13 years old asked, for your help. Every Sunday she purchases, with her own money, 10 – 12 Sunday newspapers for the coupons. As you know those papers are not cheap.
We are asking for YOUR HELP. If you get a Sunday paper, would you please consider bringing the COUPON SECTION ONLY from your Sunday paper to Netcong Borough Hall. We will have a bin clearly marked for COUPON SECTIONS ONLY next to our food contribution contained at the front of the building. Please do not drop off the rest of the Sunday News Paper, JUST THE COUPON SECTION.
We will collect the COUPON SECTION of your news paper for August and September on a trial basis.
As always, our food bank is looking for contributions of non-perishable food items. We CANNOT accept items that are past their expiration date, or open packages. We can only accept perishable food items on Tuesday or Thursday from 9 AM – 1 PM when the food bank is open.
